obtained her PhD in College of Education, Michigan State University in 2005. While there, she worked for a few major research projects including Middle-grade Mathematics and Science Teacher Induction in Selected Countries and taught a pre-service foundations course and an internship-year professional course for three years. She was awarded a Spencer Research Training Grant for two years for her dissertation research work. Before her doctoral studies, Dr. Fang had worked at the Shanghai Academy of Education Sciences as a researcher.
At National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore, she is Principal Investigator (PI) of Lesson Study Project and PI of three projects on Mathematical Problem Solving Practices in Singapore Classrooms: MPS1 for baseline data in 8 schools; MPS2 for building Web-based video cases; and MPS3 for building online learning environment for teachers anchored in video cases of classroom teaching. She teaches courses on teacher learning at both master’s and doctoral levels.

Dr. Mabin is Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) in the faculty of Commerce and Administration at Victoria University of Wellington (VUW), New Zealand, and Associate Professor in the Victoria Management School, where she teaches and researches a range of problem-solving and decision-making methods, specializing in Theory of Constraints (TOC) and hard and soft OR/MS methods. Prior to joining VUW, she works for the New Zealand Government’s scientific and industrial research organization, working as a consultant to business, government, and industry on a range of strategic and operational problems. Vicky graduated BSc (Hons) 1st class from Canterbury University and PhD in Operational Research from the university of Lancaster, UK. She is a Jonah and holds the TOC ICO certifications in Thinking Process and Supply Chain Logistics, and serves on the examinations committee. She is a Fellow of the Operational Research Society (UK) and held many positions with ORSNZ and NZPICS including President and Branch Chair, and as Editorial Board member for the International Transactions in Operations Research. She has published widely in books and international journals, co-authored The World of the Theory of Constraints, and given numerous academic and practitioner presentations and workshops.
